It is with deep regret that I have had to close the doors of BearTown French Bakery & Bistro after over 5 years of operation.
The restaurant business is full of many challenges and difficult choices. Despite the joys of bringing quality food and a welcoming atmosphere to my friends and patrons, operating this business as the sole owner 7 days a week with very few days off began to take a toll on my health and finances. When I was unable to sell the business within an appropriate time frame I was forced to make the difficult decision to close.
I have had the pleasure of getting to know many, many wonderful people. My staff and customers and friends all kept me coming in day after day with an eagerness to please. I would ask that you support my wonderful staff as they transition to new positions here in town.
Thank you for your friendship and patronage, and for making BearTown French Bakery & Bistro a New Bern favorite. Owning this business has been a wonderful and unique experience. My desire to bring to New Bern the delights of European-style dining was well-received, and I hope the effort to provide healthy, made-from-scratch food and baked goods will live on. Although I put my all into this business, you gave back at least as much. I will miss you and wish you well.
